2006 sees some changes in the Methodist ministry team of the Agnes Street Circuit, which includes Glencairn. Our long serving Pastoral Lay Assistant, Norman Coates, retired from active ministry in St Andrew's on 19 March. Norman, whose home church is Shankill Road Methodist, has been the constant Methodist face in Glencairn for a very long time. Scott paid tribute to him, thanking him for his ministry and wishing him every blessing in this well earned retirement. Church Warden Lil Gould presented Norman with retirement gifts of Beleek China. See the photographs here. Rev Colin Meneely, Minister in Woodvale Methodist and Circuit Superintendent moved to Thomas Street Methodist Church, Portadown, in July. He preached his last sermon in St Andrew's on 28 May. See the farewell presentation photograph Rev Jim Rea, former President of the Methodist Church in Ireland, moved from Portadown to Shankill Road, and to the role of Circuit Superintendent. Rev Sam Clements continues to exercise a part time retirement ministry in the circuit, working primarily in Woodvale. He is joined by the Rev Margaret Ferguson, a recently ordained Non Stipendiary Minister. We welcome Jim and Margaret, and wish Colin every blessing in his new church.
