Visit of Liverpool Football Club Community Coaching Team - April 2007

For the forth year in a row, Sister Valerie arranged a visit of the Liverpool FC Community Coaching Team to Paisley Park in West Belfast, for the benefit of boys and girls in the upper Shankill Road parishes of St Columba, St Andrew and St Matthew.

There were coaching sessions on Easter Monday and Tuesday, 9th and 10th April, and a presentation in St Columba's hall on 12th April by the LFC "Truth4Youth" outreach programme. The children learnt the following:

  1. Show racism the red card.

  2. Give bullying the boot.

  3. Kick drugs into touch.

  4. Shoot goals not guns.

  5. More important than being a good footballer - being a good person.

  6. You'll never walk alone.

The event was sponsored by the PSNI.

Further information about "LFC in the Community" may be found here.
